If you trust us to take care of you, we promise you will go home with wonderful memories. Now, let's get to know Czechia in an easy-to-understand guide!
Czechia, or the Czech Republic, is located in Central Europe and is a member of the European Union (EU). It borders Poland to the north, Germany to the west and northwest, Austria to the south, and Slovakia to the east. Czechia has a long history, with world-class architecture hidden in many of its towns and cities. It is also an industrial country that is advanced in science, technology and innovation, which have been developed continuously from the past to the present.
Czechia has a population of about 10.58 million. It is a parliamentary democracy, with the president as head of state and the prime minister as head of government. The country is divided into 13 regions and 1 capital city: Prague (the capital), Central Bohemian Region, South Bohemian Region, Plzeň Region, Karlovy Vary Region, Ústí nad Labem Region, Liberec Region, Hradec Králové Region, Pardubice Region, Olomouc Region, Moravian-Silesian Region, South Moravian Region, Zlín Region and Vysočina Region.
Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic (Czechia). It is known as the "Jewel in the Crown of Central Europe" because it is a beautiful city set among hills and was the center of an ancient kingdom. Prague is full of history and beautiful architecture, and it is also a city that has been wonderfully preserved. Its Old Town is centered on the Orloj, the astronomical clock installed in 1410, which is one of the oldest clocks in the world still in working order.
Currency in Czechia: Although Czechia is in the EU, it does not use the euro. The Czech Republic uses the koruna (CZK), also known as the Czech crown. In Thailand you cannot exchange money for Czech crowns, so we recommend withdrawing cash from an ATM. For example, with SCB the fee is 100 THB per withdrawal. You can check the approximate exchange rate on this website. It is best to withdraw cash from Czech bank ATMs so you don't pay high fees... and we stress: use the ATMs of the Czech state-owned banks.
Now let's look at the must-see places when you visit Czechia.
