Here is what we can share about it.

The Color Run is a 5-kilometer race where thousands of participants, or "Color Runners," are showered from head to toe in a different color at each kilometer.

Wear white at the starting line.

Covered in color, you're done! Color Runners finish the race with the Finish Festival, a huge party with music, dancing and a big color throw that creates millions of vivid bursts of color.

What we found out

The Color Run is a series of 5-kilometer color events and races inspired by the Hindu festival of Holi. It is owned and operated by The Color Run LLC, a for-profit company.

It takes place in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, New Zealand, Australia, Africa, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. There are no winners or prizes at this event.

Instead, runners are doused in colored powder made from food-grade cornstarch at stations along the course.
