Suggested day-trip plans from Tokyo


Day 1: Mount Fuji and the Lake Kawaguchiko area

Highlights: Mount Fuji views and beautiful autumn leaves

08:00 — We pick you up from your hotel in Tokyo in a private van and head to Yamanashi Prefecture (the Lake Kawaguchiko area, about 1.5-2 hours' drive).

10:00 - 11:30 — Visit Chureito Pagoda (Arakurayama Sengen Park) and soak in the famous postcard view of Mount Fuji with the five-story pagoda and autumn leaves. (The climb is about 398 steps, or you can choose the lower viewpoint, which is more convenient for family members.)

11:30 - 12:00 — Stop for photos at the 10-yen coin viewpoint (a view of a Byodoin-style temple by the lake) to capture the memories.

12:00 - 13:30 — Lunch at a local restaurant (try local specialties such as hoto noodles in a rich pumpkin soup).

13:30 - 15:30 — Visit Oishi Park on the shore of Lake Kawaguchiko. Stroll among the seasonal flowers, enjoy full views of Mount Fuji, and relax at a lakeside cafe.

03:30 (15:30) — Depart Kawaguchiko for Tokyo.

18:00 — We take you safely back to your hotel in Tokyo.

Day 2: Kamakura and Yokohama

Highlights: a historic old town, the great seaside Buddha, a coastal atmosphere, and the glittering lights of the harbor city at night

08:00 — We pick you up from your hotel in Tokyo and drive south into Kanagawa Prefecture to Kamakura (about 1 hour's drive).

09:00 - 11:30 — Arrive in Kamakura and visit the Great Buddha of Kamakura (Kotoku-in Temple). Then stroll along Komachi-dori Street to pick up local snacks and souvenirs and enjoy the charming traditional shops.

11:30 - 13:00 — Lunch break at a local restaurant (enjoy fresh seafood or a local specialty).

13:00 - 14:00 — Travel from Kamakura to the port city of Yokohama.

14:00 - 17:00 — Visit the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse (Akarenga Soko) for shopping and sea views, followed by Yokohama Chinatown to enjoy its lively atmosphere and evening lights.

17:00 — Depart Yokohama for Tokyo.

18:00 — Arrive back and drop you off safely at your hotel in Tokyo.

Day 3: Nikko day trip

Highlights: a World Heritage site, historic shrines, and a spectacular waterfall surrounded by autumn colors

08:00 — We pick you up from your hotel in Tokyo and drive north into Tochigi Prefecture to Nikko (about 2 hours' drive).

10:00 - 12:30 — Arrive in Nikko and visit Toshogu Shrine (a UNESCO World Heritage site). Admire the exquisite wood carvings and the famous three monkeys. Then make a quick photo stop at the iconic Shinkyo Bridge.

12:30 - 13:30 — Lunch break. Try yuba (fresh tofu skin), a famous Nikko dish.

13:30 - 15:30 — Head up the mountain to see Kegon Falls, one of the most beautiful and famous waterfalls in Japan, surrounded by autumn foliage.

15:30 — Depart Nikko for Tokyo.

18:00 — Arrive back and drop you off at your hotel in Tokyo, ending an unforgettable 3-day private trip.
