A half-day fishing tour from Tromsø aboard the MS Havcruise, a red-and-white catamaran custom-built specifically for fishing. Operated by Sørøya Havfiskecruise, who have run winter boat trips in Tromsø for many years, this tour runs during the winter season from October to February. With a capacity of no more than 12 guests, the atmosphere is warm and intimate.
In winter, cod is the most common catch, along with opportunities for catfish, coalfish, pollock, haddock, or halibut. Along the way, you might spot sea eagles or small porpoises set against stunning winter coastal landscapes around the city. Once the fishing is done, the crew prepares your catch in traditional Norwegian style, served as lunch onboard. Daily departures include a 09:30 AM shared group tour and a 13:00–16:00 private charter for families or groups of friends, priced per boat.
Thermal flotation suits and fishing equipment are provided onboard, but you should wear your own thermal base layers, winter boots, gloves, and a warm hat. The boat and gear undergo annual inspections, and passengers are insured onboard. Catch species and wildlife sightings depend on nature each day and cannot be guaranteed.
