This trip departs from central Tromsø at 10:00 a.m. in an electric Mercedes or a Tesla X, in a small group of up to 7 people, heading to a fjord on the island of Kvaløya. Once there, everyone helps set up the portable sauna, which takes about 10 minutes, then the fire is lit until the temperature reaches about 60 degrees. While you wait, you can stroll around and enjoy the scenery.
The highlight is alternating between the heat of the sauna and a dip in the clear, ice-cold Arctic sea, a refreshing feeling you can't find in Thailand. It suits couples, friends, or anyone who wants to try Nordic sauna culture. It runs all year round, for ages 10 and over. Before heading back, you stop at Bryggejentene, a small harbourside café overlooking Ersfjord.
You need to bring your own swimsuit, towel, a bag for your clothes, and footwear to wear in the sauna, such as Crocs. Drinking water, coffee or tea, snacks and lefse are provided, along with photos from the trip. Our team can book a departure for the date that suits you.
