This evening Northern Lights tour from Tromsø by Wandering Owl operates from September to April for small groups of 4-15 guests. The coordinator team reviews the weather forecast alongside local knowledge to pinpoint the spot with the highest chances of seeing the aurora that evening, occasionally traveling as far as the Finnish border.
Upon reaching the chosen destination, everyone suits up in thermal overalls. The coordinator lights a campfire and serves warm homemade soup, cookies, and hot chocolate. While waiting, the coordinator teaches you how to configure camera settings for aurora photography, with tripods available to borrow and complimentary photos taken for you. Web-sized digital images are sent free of charge after the trip. The return drop-off is at your selected location on Tromsø island.
Please carry your passport or national ID card, and wear warm clothing, a beanie, hiking boots, gloves, wool socks, and a scarf or neck warmer. Children aged 6 and older are welcome. To maximize your chances of seeing the aurora, consider booking multiple nights. The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon dependent on weather and cannot be guaranteed.
