An aurora hunting trip designed for those who want stunning photos but do not own a camera. Operated by Marianne's Heaven on Earth Aurora Chaser Tours, where the owner and coordinators are professional photographers specializing in low-light and nature photography. The price includes a Canon DSLR camera with a Canon 10-22 mm wide-angle lens, spare batteries, and a memory card. Accommodates small groups of 2-4 people, available from Sep to Mar.
The team monitors live aurora oval and geomagnetic data, consults with weather forecasters until midnight, and coordinates with other groups via radio before selecting a route. Travel by 4x4 to the western islands, north, south, or eastward into Finland or Sweden. Throughout the trip, enjoy a night photography workshop covering both auroras and landscapes, complete with hot drinks and a hot meal (soup or sausages), sometimes warmed over a campfire. Concludes with drop-off at your accommodation in Tromsø.
Thermal suits, hats, gloves, winter boots, hand and foot warmers, ice grips, reflective vests, and headlamps are all provided, though warm base layers should be worn underneath. As the route may cross international borders, our team recommends carrying your passport. Please notify us in advance if you have dog hair allergies or require vegetarian meals. Minimum age is 16 years. The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon subject to weather conditions and cannot be guaranteed. Our team is happy to check availability and book for you.
