Cross-country skiing is a sport Norwegians grow up with from childhood. This class is run by Tromsø Adventures at Charlottenlund Activity Park in Tromsø. You start by picking up your equipment and getting your skis, poles and boots fitted, listen to safety advice, then practise balance, the gliding stride, double poling and simple turns.
Once you feel comfortable, you head out for a scenic ski on prepared trails. The coordinator looks after each person so they can progress at their own pace. It suits both complete beginners and those who want to refine their technique. Children aged 7 and over can join, making it a great family activity. Departures are at 10:00, 14:00 and 18:00.
Dress in layers, as you will get warmer and warmer while skiing, then cool down quickly when you stop. Don't forget gloves and a hat. Hot drinks and Norwegian snacks are provided. Please arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes early. Our team can book the departure that suits your travel schedule.
