This trip runs exclusively in October, using wheeled carts instead of snow sleds. Operated by Kvaløya Adventure, departures leave from outside Radisson Blu Hotel in Tromsø at 7:45 AM. Take an approximately 45-minute transfer to the kennel at Straumsbukta on Kvaløya Island with a small group of no more than 8 people. Upon arrival, greet the huskies and receive rain gear and boots, with thermal suits available if needed.
Travelers ride as passengers, 2 per wagon, while the musher steers the dog team across forests and open fields for around 30 minutes. Solo travelers will be paired with another guest. The group is split into two shifts: while one group is out on the wagon run, the other relaxes in a fireside lavvu (traditional Sami tent) sipping hot drinks, snacking, and listening to the musher's tales, before switching. Enjoy extra cuddles with the huskies before returning.
Children aged 7 and up are welcome with adult supervision. Not recommended for pregnant travelers or guests with back or heart problems. Children's suit sizes are limited, so please bring warm spare clothing for kids, warm socks, gloves, a scarf, a beanie, and a camera. Child car seats are available upon request.
