A half-day tour with Tromsø Outdoor taking you from Tromsø to Malangen, a peaceful fjord area, to experience how locals embrace the long winter by getting close to nature and unwinding completely. Available from December to March; during polar night, you can experience the magical blue light of short daylight hours.
The main activity is an easy snowshoe walk with no steep slopes or mountain climbing. Afterward, visit the hidden coastal cafe Tove's Tradisjonsmat, sit by the campfire in a seaside lavvu (traditional Sami tent), and sip coffee, tea, or hot chocolate paired with Tove's homemade cake. Group size 2-8 people, children ages 8 and up.
Dress warmly in windproof and waterproof layers, and wear sturdy, warm hiking boots (available for rent). Bring a small daypack with extra clothes and a water bottle. From mid-February onwards, sunglasses and sunscreen are recommended. Our team can check availability and book for you.
