An evening trip operated by Tromsø Arctic Reindeer departing from the Prostneset bus terminal in Tromsø at 6:00 PM. Take a roughly 25-minute drive to the reindeer camp surrounded by nature, meet and feed a herd of around 300 reindeer, and take a 15-20 minute reindeer sled ride around the camp.
Afterward, warm up inside a candlelit gamme, a traditional Sámi hut, for a 3-course dinner. Start with cold-smoked salmon, followed by bidos (traditional Sámi reindeer stew) with Sámi bread, and a blueberry chocolate dessert. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and cookies are served. Your Sámi hosts will share stories about their culture, history, and herding lifestyle, and sing traditional joik folk songs.
If the sky is clear, step outside to look for the Northern Lights. However, the aurora is a natural phenomenon dependent on weather conditions and cannot be guaranteed. Dress warmly in at least two layers, a hat, mittens, and winter boots. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals are available upon request when booking. No age restrictions.
