A year-round coastal and fjord sightseeing tour operated by NorthernShots Tours. Departing from Tromsø, cross the bridge to Kvaløya Island and the western side of town, passing valleys, fjords, lakes, and white sandy beaches. Usually stops at 3 to 4 spots depending on weather and road conditions.
Possible stops include the Ersfjord viewpoint, Kattfjordeidet, turquoise-water beaches like Sandneshamn, Sandviksletta, or Sommarøy, Sjøtun pier, or the end of the road at Hillesøy. You might spot reindeer along the road. A light meal is usually enjoyed at the restaurant of Sommarøy Arctic Hotel or another suitable venue. If there is an avalanche risk or road closure, the coordinator may switch to an alternative route, such as Håkøya where the battleship Tirpitz was sunk, the Tysnes viewpoint, the Hella rock carvings, or the historic houses at Straumsbukta.
No minimum age requirement. If a child car seat is required, please notify us at least one week in advance. Please dress warmly even in summer. The tour requires a minimum of 4 participants; if the minimum is not met or the trip is canceled due to bad weather, a full refund will be provided, or the operator may arrange a similar tour with a partner instead.
