Full Steam Museum is located in the historic Full Steam wharf building in downtown Tromsø and is recognized as the world's northernmost coastal museum. Open daily year-round from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, it is perfect for a stop while exploring the city.
The main exhibition tells the story of the Sea Sámi people, their culture, traditions, and deep connection with the ocean. Another floor highlights northern seafarers, featuring historic boats and maritime and fishing collections. In addition, there is a Northern Lights photography exhibition by photographers Ole Salomonsen, Truls Iversen, and Per Ivar Somby.
Tickets include admission to all exhibitions, but do not include transportation, a coordinator, or meals. Inside the building, there is a Full Steam seafood restaurant where you can enjoy a meal afterwards (paid separately). It is easy to visit on your own as it is right by the harbor in the city center.
