Every Friday evening in summer, the wooden boat Hermes II leaves the pier in central Tromsø and cruises through the Tromsø Sound for about 1 hour 45 minutes. On board, you are served Arctic Quality by Hermes shrimp, caught in the Barents Sea by the company's own trawlers and frozen immediately on board to keep them fresh. A bar is open for drinks throughout the trip.
Hermes II is a wooden boat over 100 years old that has fished for shrimp in the Barents Sea since the 1960s. Along the way, your host tells stories about life at sea and the fishing traditions of the north. You can sit out on deck in the breeze or relax in the warm cabin. It is a lovely trip for couples and groups of friends, and also fun if you travel alone.
It is always colder at sea than on land, so dress warmly even in summer. Blankets and warm overalls are provided on board. The trip may be postponed or canceled if the weather is rough. Our team can book it for you in advance, as there is only one departure per week.
