The walking tour by Sami Walking Experience starts at the Perspektivet Museum on Storgata street, with departures at 9:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 3:00 PM. Walk past several historic landmarks in the heart of Tromsø, discovering the stories of people and events that shaped the city from its founding in the late 18th century to the bustling Arctic destination it is today.
Along the way, a coordinator raised in Sámi culture—with a background in teaching and storytelling—shares engaging insights into Sámi history and culture, introducing traditional Sámi legends passed down through generations. The route spans about 1.6 km with 1 rest stop and is fully wheelchair accessible.
The tour is conducted mainly in English, so good English listening skills are recommended. Groups are limited to 8 people, open to guests aged 12 and up (teens aged 12–17 must be accompanied by an adult).
