Leave the bus station in Tromsø at 09:00 on the Arctic Route bus, passing fjords, coastal villages and views of the Lyngen Alps, and arrive at Lyngenfjord Hotel in Skibotn at about 10:50. Your hosts and the Sami people will welcome you, then take you to feed the reindeer, take photos and hear how important reindeer are to the Sami.
Next you'll sit around the fire in a lavvu, sip a warm drink and hear about nature and life in northern Norway. At noon you'll have reindeer soup at the hotel, then take a short minibus ride to a husky farm to meet the sled dogs and puppies. Before heading back, you'll have free time to enjoy the view of Lyngenfjord or visit the hotel shop. The return bus leaves at 15:35.
This trip doesn't include a sled ride. It focuses on meeting the animals and hearing stories, so it suits families, children aged 2 and over, and older travelers who want to see both reindeer and huskies in one day without getting tired. Groups are limited to 15 people. Dress warmly and be well prepared for the cold. Our team can check availability for you.
