A husky trip at Tromsø Villmarkssenter, about 25 minutes from Tromsø. On arrival, you will be given a thermal suit and boots, then take a seat on a sled driven by an experienced musher. The pack of huskies will take you running across the snowy landscape for about 45 minutes, depending on the weather and snow conditions.
After the sled ride, a coordinator will take you to visit the kennel, home to about 200 Alaskan huskies and puppies, and tell you about the breed, sled racing and how the dogs are cared for. Then warm up by the fire in a traditional gamme hut and enjoy bidos, a Sami reindeer stew (a vegetarian option is available if you let us know in advance), followed by coffee and chocolate cake.
It suits families, older travelers and photographers, since you don't have to steer the sled yourself. Each sled seats 2-3 people, with a recommended total weight of no more than 180 kg. There are several morning departures. If you are traveling with young children, you will need to bring your own car seat. From February to April, we recommend bringing sunglasses, as the snow is very bright.
