A tour operated by Tromsø Arctic Reindeer departing from the Prostneset bus terminal in Tromsø, with departures at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Take a ride out to the reindeer camp nestled in nature. The highlight is a long reindeer sledding ride lasting 25–30 minutes through valleys and along the coast, followed by meeting and feeding the herd, and trying your hand at reindeer herder lasso throwing.
After the activities, warm up inside a traditional gamme hut by the fireside with a lunch of bidos (traditional Sámi reindeer stew) accompanied by hot drinks and cookies. Your Sámi hosts will share stories about their culture, history, and reindeer herding, and perform joik singing for you. Vegetarian/vegan vegetable stew, as well as gluten-free or lactose-free meals, are available upon request when booking.
Please dress in at least two warm layers, a warm hat, mittens, and winter boots. No age restrictions apply. Please arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before departure. Our team can check availability and book for you.
