Running from December to May and operated by XLyngen, this tour starts at XLyngen Resort in Nord-Lenangen, north of the Lyngen Alps. Transfers from Tromsø are not included; you will need to arrange your own transport to the resort or let our team assist you with travel planning.
Upon arrival, meet the coordinator, get equipped with thermal winter suits, and set off on a snowmobile ride along snowy trails for about 2 hours. Climb to an altitude of around 350 meters above sea level for panoramic views of the fjords and surrounding Lyngen mountains. Along the route, the coordinator shares stories of local history and coastal fishing culture. You may spot sea eagles, foxes, or moose, though sightings cannot be guaranteed. Conclude with a warm meal and drinks at the resort's restaurant.
Two people share one snowmobile and take turns driving. Drivers must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid car or snowmobile license. Children aged 7 and older may participate if they can hold on by themselves. Difficulty level is moderate. We recommend bringing gloves and wearing warm wool base layers and clothing. Wildlife sightings are natural and cannot be guaranteed. Our team can check availability and book for you.
