A holiday expedition by operator Basecamp Senja organized for the New Year from December 29 to January 2 (5 days, 4 nights). Priced per person for groups of 2–10 people, ages 12 and up. Day 1 sets off on a whale watching boat from central Tromsø at 08:00 toward Skjervøy, where humpback and orca whales have come to feed on herring in recent seasons. The spacious vessel features heated indoor cabins and returns to town by 17:00. At 18:00, take a 3-hour taxi transfer to Skaland village on Senja island, staying at Posthuset Expedition Lodge or Bedehuset.

On December 30, tour coastal viewpoints along the Norwegian Scenic Route Senja and set out for northern lights chasing in the evening. On New Year's Eve, December 31, cruise between islands in Bergsfjorden aboard a RIB boat looking for white-tailed sea eagles and seals, followed by a festive New Year's Eve dinner and a cozy gathering around a coastal bonfire. On New Year's Day, January 1, visit the Ottemoen husky farm with around 35 dogs for an approximate 3-hour sledding program including gear fitting and meeting the dogs. On January 2, depart accommodation at 09:30 to take the Hurtigruten or Havila ship from Finnsnes at 11:30, reaching Tromsø at 14:15.
