A Northern Lights chase operated by Arctic Cruise in Norway travels by electric vehicle, running from August to April and departing at 19:00 or 22:00 depending on the season from outside Scandic Ishavshotel in central Tromsø. Accommodating groups of 2–7 people, the tour uses a Tesla or Mercedes depending on group size and distance, with upgrades to a Porsche Cayenne Electric available at extra cost.
The coordinator, who also drives, plans the route according to weather conditions and aurora forecasts, sharing stories about Tromsø, surrounding nature, and local tales along the way. The itinerary is flexible, allowing you to stay longer wherever conditions look promising. While waiting, enjoy coffee, tea, or hot chocolate with lefse, a traditional Norwegian flatbread. The coordinator takes photos for you, delivered after the trip along with custom digital artwork created from your tour.
Thermal suits must be requested in advance. Please bring your own hat, gloves, and warm boots, and arrive 10 minutes before departure. Tour duration may vary depending on driving distance.
