An evening trip that combines the thrill of a snowmobile ride with sky-watching. It starts at XLyngen in Nord-Lenangen, quite a distance from Tromsø, and this trip does not include a transfer. Travelers must make their own way to the meeting point, so it suits those who rent a car or are already staying in the Lyngen area.
After a driving briefing, the Coordinator leads you into the Lyngen Alps. Two people share one snowmobile and swap drivers halfway. There are stops for photos and for looking out for the Northern Lights, with hot drinks and snacks. With a small group of just 2-6 people, the atmosphere is quiet and private.
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings are not guaranteed. Drivers must be over 18 and hold a car or snowmobile driving licence. Children aged 7 and over can ride as passengers if they can hold on by themselves. Nights are very cold, so wear a wool base layer and thick gloves.
