- Borealis Tour · the Tromsø region
This Northern Lights tour by Borealis Tour departs from central Tromsø at 7:00 PM sharp, welcoming just 2 to 8 guests per departure. Your local coordinator monitors weather forecasts, cloud density, and solar activity, dynamically adjusting the route toward areas with the clearest skies. Some nights involve multiple stops, and the journey may cross over into Finland.
Once an ideal spot is found, relax on camp chairs around a crackling campfire (weather permitting), sip hot chocolate, coffee, or tea, roast local sausages and marshmallows, and listen to stories about the aurora borealis, Arctic wildlife, and Tromsø's history. Your coordinator captures high-resolution portraits and landscape photos to send after the tour. Tripods for cameras and smartphones are provided, with guiding commentary available in English and Cantonese.
Thermal winter suits are provided to wear over your clothes, but please dress warmly in thermal layers, winter boots, a scarf, and bring your own camera or smartphone and drinking water. Restroom facilities along rural routes are limited, so please use the facilities before departure. Drop-off after the tour is provided at hotels along main roads or accommodations within roughly 10 km of the city center. The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon subject to weather conditions and can never be guaranteed. If the lights do not appear, you will receive a 50% discount toward a future tour with the operator (non-refundable). Our team at See You Again is happy to check dates and handle your reservation.
