A whale-watching trip from Tromsø aboard the Polar Adventure boat, heading to the rich waters near Skjervøy and Kvænangen, the winter feeding grounds of several whale species. The journey out takes about 2.5 hours, passing Kvaløya and Ullsfjorden, with views of the Lyngen Alps, islands and fishing villages all the way.
Once you reach the whale-watching area, you will have plenty of time to search for orcas, humpback whales, fin whales and other wildlife. You may also spot a white-tailed eagle, with a wingspan of more than 2.4 meters. The boat can carry 72 people but is limited to 50 per departure. It has 2 heated seating rooms, an outdoor deck, toilets and USB charging points. A boxed lunch, snacks and hot drinks are provided. It is suitable for families with children aged 5 and over, and for animal lovers.
The sea can be rough, so if you get seasick easily, take medication before departure. It is also much colder on the boat than on land, so wear at least 2 layers of clothing. Seats cannot be reserved in advance. In the 24 hours before departure, please keep your phone and e-mail switched on. Whales are wild animals, so sightings are not guaranteed.
