An afternoon winter tour (November to April) operated by Tromsø Lapland. Depart from Tromsø for about 50 minutes by vehicle to a valley camp surrounded by snowy peaks with views of the Lyngen Alps. Upon arrival, Sámi coordinators will take you on a reindeer sledding ride for approximately 20 minutes.
After sledding, step into the enclosure to feed and take photos with the reindeer herd. Lunch is bidos (reindeer meat stew) served with bread, with vegan and gluten-free options available. Then gather inside a traditional lavvu tent to listen to Sámi coordinators share stories of their traditions and life with reindeer for around 30 minutes.
Thermal winter suits, overshoes, hats, and mittens are provided, but please dress warmly in layers and bring your camera. Reindeer sledding depends on snow conditions; sledding time may be adjusted or cancelled. If cancelled, a partial refund will be provided and other activities proceed as scheduled. Sled rider weight must not exceed 120 kg. The camp ground is uneven, so guests with mobility difficulties should inform us in advance. Our team can check availability and book for you.
