A half-day trip from November to March operated by Northernlight.guide. Take a bus from Tromsø for about 30 minutes to the Lavangsdalen valley, where a Sámi family will welcome you and share stories of their culture and history.
Feed the reindeer and, if time permits, try lasso throwing on reindeer antlers—the authentic method Sámi herders use. During the trip, relax in a warm hut and enjoy homemade Sámi bread with dried reindeer meat and a beverage. Handmade Sámi handicrafts are also available for purchase at the camp if you are looking for one-of-a-kind souvenirs.
Ideal for families, children aged 6 and up are welcome, with group sizes of 6 to 32 people. The activity level is very easy. Please wear wool thermal underwear, gloves, and warm winter clothing. Our team can check availability and book both morning and late-morning departures for you.
