A whale-watching trip from central Tromsø aboard the warm, spacious MS Gabriele. The boat departs in the morning for the area where humpback whales and orcas come to hunt herring. Watch through the panoramic windows in the cabin, then step out onto the deck when you want to get closer. Besides whales, you may also see harbor porpoises and seabirds.
Even during the polar night, from around late November to mid-January, there is still a beautiful blue twilight glow that is wonderful for photos. The crew follow Visit Tromsø's whale-watching guidelines so the animals are not disturbed. It is suitable for families, older travelers, and anyone who prefers not to go out on a small boat, since there is indoor space to relax comfortably.
There is no going ashore during the trip, and the duration depends on where the whales are. Please bring your own camera, hat, gloves and warm clothing. Thermal suits are limited in number. Whales are not guaranteed, but if you don't see humpback whales or orcas, you can join the next available trip at no extra cost. Our team can arrange the booking for you.
