This trip does not depart from central Tromsø. It takes place in the Bardufoss area, which is home to many wild moose. The meeting point is Høgtun in Målselv. The coordinator first tells you about moose, the landscape and the local moose-hunting culture, then drives you to the spots where you have the best chance of seeing them, keeping a distance so the animals are not disturbed.
After the drive-based safari, the coordinator takes you snowshoeing through the forest to look at moose tracks and other signs, all the way to a small log hunting cabin. There you are served a warm meal and coffee. Along the way you may see reindeer, foxes or Arctic birds, but these are all wild animals in their natural habitat, so sightings are not guaranteed.
This is a private trip, with only one booking accepted per departure. A minimum of 2 people is required, aged 12 and over. It suits couples, families and wildlife photography lovers. Wear warm hiking boots with a flat sole and dress fully for a Norwegian winter. Our team can help plan your journey to the meeting point and book it for you.
