1 We will pick you up at Vienna Airport upon arrival in Austria, known as one of the most romantic countries in the world. It is the land of timeless classical music and world-famous composers such as Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert, Brahms, Johann Strauss, and many more. Its capital is “Vienna”, home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Historic Center of Vienna (inscribed in 2001) and Schönbrunn Palace (inscribed in 1996).

At 11:00, visit Schönbrunn Palace, the famous summer residence of the Austrian Habsburg dynasty. Located in Vienna, Austria, it was historically the imperial residence of the Habsburg emperors from the 13th to the 20th century. Emperor Joseph I commissioned the construction of this opulent palace, inspired by the Palace of Versailles in France.

Then at 12:30, enjoy lunch in Vienna featuring Thai food (Aroi Thai Restaurant).

Then depart on a 300 km journey taking about 3.5 hours to Salzburg. Take a stroll in the heart of the Old Town, following the footsteps of the musical film The Sound of Music. Visit Mirabell Gardens, where the musical was filmed and which offers spectacular city views. Walk across the bridge over the green Salzach River, colored by rich salt minerals, which gave Salzburg its name as a historic salt trading center. Walk along Getreidegasse with its elaborately crafted wrought-iron shop signs, and visit the birthplace of world-renowned composer Mozart at No. 9 on this street. A great souvenir to shop for here is Mozart chocolate.

At 17:30, enjoy dinner in Salzburg at local restaurant Braurestaurant IMLAUER.

Overnight in Salzburg at SHERATON GRAND SALZBURG hotel.

2 In the morning at 9:00, depart for Hallstatt, a World Heritage lakeside town of pristine beauty. Be enchanted by the dreamy traditional wooden houses cascading down the hillside, making it the most beautiful town in Austria and the filming location of the famous Korean drama Spring Waltz. (China even replicated this town along a waterfront in Huizhou at huge expense, marking the world's first town cloning). This area is part of the Salzkammergut region, a natural wonderland filled with gorgeous lakes and majestic mountains, dotted with quiet roadside villages, making this scenic route unforgettable in every season—with several spots featured in The Sound of Music. Hallstatt is Austria's oldest town and a World Heritage site. Walk through town and take photos at the most scenic spots. Great local souvenirs in this region include natural salt and salt-based cosmetics. Take a leisurely stroll.

Lunch at Restaurant Rudolfsturm.

In the afternoon, take photos around town with free time at your leisure, sipping beer and relaxing by the lake.

At 15:00, take photos and enjoy a scenic drive around Gosau, Austria, then depart for Grundlsee, Austria (22 km away), a lovely town in the Ausseerland region near the Dead Mountains. This village is situated right on Lake Grundlsee. We will stay in individual holiday houses here in Grundlsee, Austria at MONDI-HOLIDAY SEEBLICKHOTEL GRUNDLSEE.
