RIN'S REVIEW

Must-Visit Cities in Spain

Rin's reviews by Rin

Hello everyone! Today Asa will introduce you to Spain. Many friends planning a trip to Europe may overlook Spain, but this country has so much to offer that you should definitely consider visiting. Let's see what makes it so special! There are many cities we'd love to recommend, but today we'll start with 2 of them.

More than 65 million tourists from around the world choose to spend a few days of their holidays here every year. The first reason is the landscape and cultural diversity: there are rivers, lakes, valleys, islands, vast forests, wide white-sand beaches, and small golden-sand coves hidden in bays, with beaches surrounded by forest and greenery... You can enjoy Costa Brava, Costa Blanca, the beaches of Cabo de Gata, the northern coastal forests or the Costa del Sol... Importantly, the hotel industry and its service are also excellent by European standards. As for history and heritage monuments, the blend of history, culture and monuments is very rare in other countries of the world, and you could say it is found here alone. There is great variety, such as La Granja de San Ildefonso in Segovia; cathedrals such as Burgos or Santiago de Compostela; medieval castles such as Xàtiva; and Roman ruins such as those of Mérida. Spanish food has rich flavors, but is not spicy like ours at home. With its well-balanced ingredients, it is delicious. For example, potato omelette, Iberian ham, cooked paella, fabada, salmorejo... I've tried them all, and I can confirm they are delicious. From my experience, Toy has had the chance to travel to many countries, and I know that Spanish food tastes closest to Thai food, and it is not too heavy either. The seafood is very fresh because Spain has coastline in every region. And you can really go in and play in the sea. In other European countries you may have a sea, but it is only one you can look at and cannot swim in. My personal favorite highlight is the quality of the wine and the delicious, inexpensive cheese. You should buy some to take home when you visit.

The standout is probably the climate, which is better than in most countries. Spain lies on the Mediterranean Sea, so summers are dry, and the hot period is short, only July to August. Winters are mild and balanced, and you can enjoy more than 3,000 hours of good sunshine per year. It is no surprise that so many tourists come here, as this is one of the warmest places in Europe.

Madrid

Madrid is the capital of Spain and the most populous city in the country. But I have to say, even though it is the capital, Madrid keeps its green spaces very well and has the most trees per capita. For football fans, here you will find the Santiago Bernabéu, the best football stadium in the world, home of La Liga's Real Madrid CF, as Thai fans know it. I secretly checked the price of the player kits because I saw how much people love them, and I have to warn you, they are really expensive! Better to save your money for exploring other things, hehe.

Another place worth visiting is the Plaza Mayor. The most famous spot in Madrid features the bear and the strawberry tree (madroño), the symbols of the city, and is the central point, with a clock bell here. The Prado Museum is also very important, and is on what is called the most famous street in Madrid. There is also the Royal Palace, an official residence of the royal family, which is especially exciting because it is a palace you can visit inside, in Europe. And El Retiro is a beautiful park in Madrid where you will find puppet shows, musicians, fortune tellers and much more.
Getting to this city is also very convenient, because it has a large airport with many airlines and very comprehensive transport links. You can easily connect by plane or road to other countries and cities, as it is a central hub.

Valencia

With its special climate all year round, Valencia is a favorite destination for many travelers from around the world who want to enjoy the warmth of the Mediterranean. As mentioned above, the beaches here are very beautiful. It is also a city of arts and sciences. Importantly, Valencia has impressive cultural and entertainment architecture. The city has a square that is one of the centers of interest, with a lovely circular fountain and beautiful flowers. The flowers here are the real star of the garden. But you will see even more kinds of beauty if you come here, really! When we Thai people travel, we want to see beautiful things and enjoy a lovely atmosphere, and add delicious food that suits our taste, and it is pure bliss. I especially love the seafood here, which is very fresh and delicious, and the cooking style is purely natural. You will have to find out for yourself how it tastes here! And there is the Valencian way of eating too. Oh, and you must not miss tasting the famous Paella Valenciana on the beachfront.

Another very famous place is Malvarrosa, a beach with beautiful sand where you can stroll and browse the market along the beachfront, also called the seaside promenade. It has the best architecture and products of the Mediterranean in Valencia. Getting here is easy too: you can continue from Madrid by bus, train or plane, or rent a car.
