How to Prepare Money for Your Trip to Greece

How to Prepare Money for Your Trip to Greece
Greece's former currency was the Greek drachma (GRD), but on 28 Feb 2002 the euro (EURO) replaced the Greek drachma (GRD)
So if you are traveling to Greece, bring euros(EURO) with you!
Money helpers
If you do not want to carry a lot of cash, another great helper is a credit card, whether VISA CARD, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS or DINERS CLUB
Credit cards
When using a credit card abroad, you should notify your card issuer in advance. Without prior notice, the issuer may suspect that the card has been stolen and is being used elsewhere, and may block it. So do not forget to tell your card issuer which countries you will visit before you travel, otherwise your card may be blocked. You can also use your credit card to withdraw cash abroad. Do not forget your PIN for cash withdrawals! If you cannot remember it, call your card issuer to ask, and remember to tell them which countries you will be using the card in as well.
Another thing to know is that fees for using credit cards abroad vary depending on the service and the location, so ask for clear information first. Another option is to withdraw cash abroad with an ATM card or debit card. First, check what type of card you have and whether it can be used to withdraw cash abroad, by calling the bank that issued your card. And do not forget to tell them which countries you will be withdrawing money in.
Debit cards
Using a debit card makes it easy to withdraw cash in the local currency abroad through ATMs (for Visa debit cards, use an ATM with the VISA or PLUS logo). You can also pay for purchases with your debit card without a transaction fee, as long as there is money in the account linked to that card (although a currency exchange risk fee of about 2.5% or more of the amount spent will apply). It works just like paying in cash, but in card form.
