Morning: pick-up at the airport/train station/bus station
We take you for breakfast in Ubon Ratchathani city.
09.30 Travel to Wat Sri Nuan Saeng Sawang Arom in Ban Chi Thuan, Khueang Nai District. The temple holds valuable architecture: the Hor Chaek (preaching hall), which houses a lion-shaped stucco preaching pulpit made by Vietnamese craftsmen and built between 1925 and 1927 (B.E. 2468-2470). Then visit Khua Noi at Ban Chi Thuan (khua = bridge), built so monks and novices can walk across to collect alms and so people from the two villages, Ban Chi Thuan and Ban Nong Khaen, can visit one another. This bridge stretches across the rice fields, letting you stroll through the countryside and take beautiful photos.
Next, travel to Pa-ao Village to see silk weaving and choose silk fabrics from the community. Then visit the Brassware Group to see how brassware is made and pick out brass products as gifts and souvenirs.
12.00 Lunch in Ubon Ratchathani city.
13.00 Travel to Sam Phan Bok in Pho Sai District (120 km) and check in at the accommodation.
Then take a boat cruise to see the Siam Grand Canyon, Sam Phan Bok, a wonder in the middle of the Mekong River. Currents in the Mekong swirl and erode the rocky rapids, carving the rock into hollows that the villagers call bok. They come in different shapes, according to your imagination, and there are more than 3,000 of them, which is why the place is called "Sam Phan Bok" (Three Thousand Bok). See the colorful rock plateau, coral-like rocks and vase-shaped rocks.
Dinner, then relax at your leisure.
2
05.30 Daybreak: welcome the morning sun at Star-Gazing Beach (if the Mekong River water has not yet dropped, we will visit Pha Wat Jai instead). See the beautiful rocky rapids, which look similar to Sam Phan Bok. When the time is right, return to the accommodation.
Breakfast at the resort's restaurant.
10.00 Travel to Saeng Chan Waterfall, also known as "Long Ru Waterfall", named for the stream flowing through a hole in the rock. The charm of this waterfall is its beauty, which blends perfectly with nature, for you to experience. Then travel another 2 km to see Thung Na Mueang Waterfall and the giant vine. The waterfall falls in a beautiful curtain, and on the way down to the waterfall you will find a giant vine more than 400 years old, with a trunk measuring 1.5 meters around, covering the area above the waterfall. After taking photos of these memorable sights, travel to Khong Chiam District.
12.00 Lunch in Khong Chiam District
13.00 See the Two-Colored River (the point where the Mun River flows into the Mekong River). The water appears in 2 colors: in the early rainy season the Mekong is muddy while the Mun is clear, as in the saying "the Mekong the color of cement, the Mun the color of indigo."
Then pay respects at Wat Tham Khuha Sawan, worship the body of Luang Pu Kham Khaning Chulamani, and see the largest gong in the world.
Then check in at the hotel in Khong Chiam District.
Next, travel to Kaeng Tana National Park to see the rocky rapids in the middle of the Mun River and the longest suspension bridge in Thailand.
Then travel to Wat Sirindhorn Wararam Phu Phrao to see the beautiful Lan Xang-style ordination hall, watch the sunset at Sirindhorn Dam, and see the art of the cassia (kanlapaphruek) tree behind the ordination hall, which glows as the sky begins to darken.
Dinner, then relax at your leisure.
3
07.00 Breakfast at the hotel and check-out.
Travel to Pha Taem National Park to see Sao Chaliang, a masterpiece of sandstone sculpture from 2 eras. Then walk to Pha Taem to see ancient prehistoric rock paintings 3,000-4,000 years old. Then travel to Wat Tham Wang Pha Phaya Nakharat, near Pha Taem National Park.
12.00 Lunch (meal no. 10) at Sahaphochana Restaurant, Kaeng Saphue, Phibun Mangsahan District.
Then travel to Wat Nong Pa Phong in Warin Chamrap District to visit the museum and pay respects to the relics of Phra Bodhiyan Thera (Luang Pu Chah Subhaddo) at the Phra Bodhiyan Thera Chedi.
15.30 Travel into Ubon Ratchathani city to pay respects at the Phra That Chedi Sri Maha Pho, modeled on the chedi at Bodh Gaya, at Wat Phra That Nong Bua. You can also see the candle floats used in the Ubon Ratchathani Candle Festival procession, which the temple keeps so visitors can admire their beauty.
Then stop at a souvenir shop to buy gifts such as mu yo (Vietnamese-style pork sausage), sausages, naem nueang and more.
We see you safely to Ubon Ratchathani International Airport/train station/bus station.
