7 Unique Beaches in Greece Unlike Anywhere Else
Greece, officially known as the Hellenic Republic, is a country rich in history dating back to ancient Greece, and that heritage still shapes its tourist attractions today. Many people picture Greece as a land of ancient sites and ancient architecture. But besides visitors who come to admire the ancient architecture, plenty of travelers come to Greece for a summer break, soaking up the sun on its beaches. Today, See You Again has gathered 7 must-see beaches to share with you. Let's take a look!
1 Elafonisi Beach

This is a golden beach that sometimes looks pink, with bright, milky-turquoise water. The water is so clear that many people say Elafonisi is the clearest beach in Greece. You can see the sand on the seabed and schools of little fish quite clearly, which makes this one of the most interesting beaches in Greece.
2 Navagio Beach

Navagio Beach, which means Shipwreck Beach, is a small cove on the northwest coast of Zakynthos. This small beach is surrounded by steep white cliffs. A smugglers' ship was abandoned here and its crew fled back in 1980, and it has since become a modern-day tourist attraction. It was also a filming location for the series Descendants of the Sun, starring Korean national treasure Song Joong Ki and his leading lady, both on and off screen, Song Hye Kyo.
3 Agia Triada Beach

This is a wonderfully peaceful beach. Although it is located in a residential area, the advantage is that there are plenty of facilities, including changing rooms, showers, a first-aid point and various water sports equipment. The beach is close by, so once you have had your fill of swimming and sunbathing, you can go on to explore the villages of Epanomi and Nea Michaniona, as both are not far from the beach.
4 Agios Prokopios Beach, Naxos

This beach is located 5 km from the capital, Agios Prokopios. It is one of the most popular beaches on Naxos and is considered one of the most beautiful in Greece. This golden beach stretches more than 1.5 kilometers, with beautiful crystal-clear water sheltered from the strong winds that often blow across the island. The beach is well organized, with sun loungers and umbrellas available for you, and the area has lovely cafés and restaurants that are perfect for taking plenty of photos.
5 Perissa Beach (Black Beach)

The beach lies at the foot of Mesa Vouno Mountain, separated from the town of Kamari, about 13 kilometers from Fira. The scenery here is more unusual than at other beaches because the beach is covered in black lava sand. It is one of the longest and best-known beaches on Santorini, and is typical of a volcanic island. The beach is very well organized, with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas for large numbers of visitors, as well as facilities such as showers for rinsing off after swimming, a playground and various life-saving equipment.
6 Kamari Beach

Kamari Beach is only 4 km from the Wine Museum. It is another black-sand beach on Santorini, similar to Perissa Beach. On the left side of the beach is a huge rock called Mesa Vouno, and at night the rock is said to glow in the dark, letting you see a wonder of nature. The seafront is lined with houses that have kept their traditional, old-fashioned character very well.
7 Red Beach

Red Beach is located near the village of Akrotiri. It is certainly a sandy beach unlike any other in the world, because this small beach is covered in a deep brick red and is surrounded by tall red cliffs that make it stand out. The sand and the pebbles along the shore are all brick red. It truly lives up to its name, Red Beach.
