Visiting the Stone Castles with See You Again

Prasat Mueang Tam, Ban Khok Mueang, Prakhon Chai District, Buriram
Another of Thailand's fairly well-preserved Khmer temples. But looking closely, the high-relief stone carvings such as the lintels don't look quite right. They look brand new, like the souvenirs at Chatuchak. If you love high and low relief carvings, go to the truly ancient ones at Angkor Wat or Banteay Chhmar. If you like unusual structures, we recommend Koh Ker or Preah Vihear. If you like an old, venerable atmosphere, we recommend Wat Phou in Champasak.
If you come to Mueang Tam, there is an information center in front. Go in and take a look, you will learn a lot.
If you like homestays, in Ban Khok Mueang there are homestays in old traditional mansions that look a little spooky, offered by several hosts. Choose whichever you like.

Phanom Rung Temple and the Lintel of Narayana Reclining on the Serpent
If you don't want to walk far when you come here, drive up the hill a bit from the main entrance, pay the entrance fee, and park right beside the temple (at the back).

Kuti Reusi Ban Khok Mueang and Prasat Ban Bu
Two small temples near Mueang Tam, plus the quarry that supplied the stone for Phanom Rung and Mueang Tam, at Wat Lan Hin Tat in Ban Kruat District, Buriram.
